Good Things Do Happend

Hello, people!

Can you believe it´s almost Friday again?

This week… this year has totally flied by! I´m impressed. And amazed 🙂

I hope you´re all having a great week. I know I am, haha.

Ok, let me set the record straight. I have EXCITING news to share!

“Tonight´s gonna be a good night…”

I´m going to Demi Lovato´s concert!

I couldn´t be more excited. I think she´s a great singer, and an example to be followed. Have you heard about her fight against bullying?

Besides, I do love all her songs 😉

Anyhow – I´ll have to be quick. I only have a few hours left to get ready, grab my bag and GO!

I know you guys understand. Hehe.

Let´s see…

TUESDAY

Breakfast

DSCF3220

Great. Combo.

DSCF3222

~2 spoonfuls of cottage cheese with 1/2 crumbled granola bar and a pear

School Snack

DSCF3225

A pretty big apple, this time.

Lunch

I had lunch with grandma again! So. Much. Fun.

DSCF3235

Great photo skills… Haha.

DSCF3236

My 1st plate (minus the crushed vegetable pie on your right – tasted like mud): tabouli salad, sliced beets, tomato&white beans salad, a small slice of tuna and leek quiche.

PIC_0412

2nd plate (from the sushi bar) – Ginger slices, raw salmon and tuna sashimi, grilled salmon slices, cucumber salad.

PIC_0413

Peach-Flavoured Iced Tea on the side.

DSCF3237

We actually went to a self-service restaurant – you weight your plate, and you only pay for what you eat. They had an amazing sushi bar – can you see it, right behind Grandma?  This guy on her side´s a host of a tv show about traveling that she loves to watch. She was (clearly) excited to meet him “par hasard”!

Dinner

DSCF3241

I started off with a pumpkin and spinach soup (homemade)…

DSCF3242

Followed by a plate of deliciouness! A baked sweet potato, a small lice of broccoli quiche, baked pumpkin, baked tofu slices (à la miss GlidingCalm), plus steamed chayote and cauliflower.

DSCF3245

By the way – thanks for the recipe, girl! It tasted awesome.

DSCF3244

LOVE.

WEDNESDAY

Breakfast

DSCF3249

1/2 non-fat yogurt and 1/2 crumbled granola bar.

DSCF3252

On a Starbucks Mug! YAY 🙂

DSCF3257

Always a winner in my book.

School Snack

DSCF3259

Perfectly red apple

Lunch

PIC_0415

With Mom – slice of leek quiche, soybean salad (with sliced carrots and cucumber) and a caprese tower (argula, tomato and white cheese).

PIC_0417

With a glass of fresh unsweetened OJ on the side, for good measure.

Dinner

PIC_0419

At a restaurant called “Andy´s”, with grandpa, his girlfriend and my cousins. I started off with Iced Tea

PIC_0420

And then, I “created” a veggie sub that contained: low-carb bread (don´t ask – they only said it was 20% lower in terms of carbs!), brie cheese, pickle mix and olives. I expected more…

PIC_0421

But it wasn´t too bad. I managed to eat half.

Dessert

PIC_0424

My absolute favourite… small plain Fro-Yo!

PIC_0425

As good as always 🙂

THURSDAY

Breakfast

DSCF3263

My crazy mix: a tbsp of cottage cheese with 1/3 container of non-fat plain yogurt, plus 1/2 crumbled granola bar.

DSCF3262

Believe me when I say – a winner!

School Snack

DSCF3267

My pink-ish little friend.

Lunch

DSCF3270

Small slice of broccoli quiche, zucchini bake, ginger and tomato slices and cooked carrot sticks.

DSCF3273

Randomness.

Wow – it took me quite a while to go through all of those pics! Looong post, yet again. Oops 🙂

I have to go, now… But I promise to take lots of pics to share with y´all!

Wish you a FUN night!

XOXO

A No-Go (+YMIAC and YMIAJ)

Hey, bloggers!

It´s Monday, once again! How was your weekend? Fun?

I certainly had a peculiar one. More on that later.

Now, I have sad news to share. Very, very sad news. Remember my British Excitement?

So… it´s not happening.

And what hurts me the most is the fact that I had everything on my side. Mom was excited, helping me choose the best campus. Grandpa had agreed on paying for my flight and gave me support. I was decided to face this trip as a challenge. I´d spend three weeks eating only what I was offered (and, believe me – that doesn´t include much greens or organic food).

But no. I won´t be traveling for a 3-week course in England simply because…

Dad said “No”.

Yep. England´s a no-go.

It all melted away.

My vacation. My course. My plans… My dream.

(I´m sorry if I´m beeing too dramatic… I realize I sound like a spoiled little girl. But I truly want this since I was little. England has always been one of my top dreams. London+Paris= The Perfect Trip. Get it? I´m devastaded.)

Anyhow. Enough complaining! I guess it just wasn´t meant to be. At least… not now.

I didn´t post on Friday on purpose – I wanted to wait until Dad said “Yes” so I could immediately share the amazing news with you guys. Major fail.

Let´s just rewind, then… Back to where I left you:

FRIDAY

Breakfast

DSCF3110

YMIAC (Yogurt Mess In a Cantaloupe!)

DSCF3114

Pure. Bliss.

DSCF3111

1/2 container of non-fat plain yogurt with 1/2 crumbled granola bar inside 1/2 a cantalupe. Not HALF bad!

🙂

School Snack

DSCF3119

Pear

Lunch

DSCF3126

I met Grams for lunch!

DSCF3136

Yep. At that amazing vegan/vegetarian restaurant called “Vegan Vegan”.

DSCF3134

So comfy and cozy. Pure love!

DSCF3128

I´ve had an organic greens salad with a blob of vegan mayo as a starter…

DSCF3132

And then, the so-called “Optional Dish”:  Organic Soy-Cheese Kibbeh, beans, pumpkin-y veggies, brown rice and grated carrots and beets.

DSCF3133

My favourite passion fruit+ ginger juice was on the side, obvs!

DSCF3129

It was F-U-N.

Dessert

DSCF3137

No lunch is complete without FRO-YO!

DSCF3139

We were both very excited 😀

DSCF3140

Different toppings…

DSCF3141

Her choice – pomegranate fro-yo with strawberries, mango and marshmallow sauce.

DSCF3145

My choice – diet fro-yo topped with pineapple and mango slices.

DSCF3150

Modern environment…

DSCF3149

Fun lightning!

I was certainly a happy camper 😀

Dinner

DSCF3156

Raw carrots, ginger slices, ~1 tbsp of brown mustard.

DSCF3158

Baked carrot (sausage-alike), sweet potato, Cottage Cheese and Zucchini Bake slice.

DSCF3160

Altogether = perfect dinner combo.

SATURDAY

Breakfast

DSCF3161

My other cantaloupe half and a pear.

School Snack

DSCF3170

Yes, I went to school on a saturday morning! Only to wait for my parents, though. Parents and teachers were having a Parent/Child Reunion. Only I wasn´t able to join them :/

DSCF3169

I sipped on this diet version of a guarana juice brazilians often drink. I forgot how fake it tastes, though – so I threw most of it away. Bummer.

DSCF3177

I spent the rest of my time listening to music and playing with my LoveCalculator iTouch App – so fun!

DSCF3176

Hey… A girl can dream, right? Haha.

Lunch

PIC_0390

Lunch was tough. I was at Dad´s house, having lunch with him. I served myself while he stared at me – grandma´s chicken pasta with ~2 tbsp of mashed pumpkin, tomato slices and a small piece of grilled chicken. I couldn´t finish it all, and the chicken tasted weird… But I ate my food. Dad looked proud 🙂

Snack

PIC_0393

About an hour or so after lunch, Dad invited my to a Fro-Yo date. How could I say “No”? I chose the plain fro-yo topped with mango and pineapple. The pineapple tasted awful, though – terribly sweet. Left the whole pineapple portion, but ate all the rest up 🙂

Dinner

PIC_0397

PIC_0399

Dinner was eaten at the mall, while me and Dad were running some errands and waiting for my sister (who was having dinner with her friends at Outback Steakhouse inside the mall). I chose a white cheese and hummus sandwich on a whole wheat bun, with a side of fresh OJ. Couldn´t finish it all – but it tasted AWESOME!

SUNDAY

Breakfast

PIC_0401

I´ve had a slice of white toast with a little brazilian cheese melted on top, plus…

PIC_0402

A little cup of coffee with non-fat milk. It´s been a while!

PIC_0404

I planned on eating that pear, but… it just didn´t happend :/

Lunch

PIC_0407

Lunches at grandma´s house are always delicious. Yesterday was no different – I´ve had a small slice of broccoli and ricotta quiche with a tiny piece of lasagna and heart-of-palms slices. Y-U-M.

Dinner

DSCF3183

Back at Mom´s house – my true home. Slice of leftover broccoli quiche, cottage cheese and zucchini bake, ginger and heart-of-palms slices

DSCF3180

Plus a chopped carrot with brown mustard on the side. For crunch 😉

DSCF3181

Yummalicious.

MONDAY

Breakfast

DSCF3188

Can you believe it?

DSCF3193

Me neither!

DSCF3194

YMIAJ!

DSCF3201

Made with 1/2 crumbled granola bar, 1/2 container of non-fat plain yogurt and leftover Cinnamon Raisin Swirl. The perfect final touch 🙂

DSCF3197

Speechless.

School Snack

DSCF3205

A super juicy mini-pear! One of the bests I´ve ever had, seriously!

Lunch

DSCF3207

Oops. I did it again.

DSCF3208

I was feeling a bit nauseous and considered skipping lunch… But then I remembered I couldn´t. So I chose something cool and light on my poor stomach…

DSCF3209

A medium-sized zero (0% fat, 0% sugar) Fro-Yo at Yoggi.

Not what you would call a super-healthy lunch… But it fitted me well 😉

Dinner

DSCF3212

Slice of broccoli quiche and zucchini bake, heart-of-palms, baked thin slice of pumpkin and sweet potato, steamed cauliflower and chayote slices.

DSCF3216

What I call the perfect dinner 😀

Wow! I guess I did have tons of pics to share, didn´t I?

I should be saying goodbye. I still have math, physics and biology homework waiting for me. Oops!

Hehe.

See you lovies later!

XOXO

DSCF3062

And ~4 tbsp of black beans, a must.

DSCF3065

Plus a fresh melon slice as dessert.

THURSDAY

Breakfast

DSCF3070

You know what that means?

DSCF3072

Yup – YMIAJ!

DSCF3071

My Yogurt Mess In A Jar contained 1/2 plain non-fat yogurt and 1/2 Nature Valley´s Oats N´Honey granola bar.

DSCF3075

And, obviously, the star of the show: PB&Co´s Smooth Operator!

DSCF3079

YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMM-O.

School Snack

DSCF3084

A small and cute apple

Lunch

DSCF3086

Steamed cauliflower, baked pumpkin, tomato slices, a bit of grilled chicken and a baked carrot.

So, yeah. I have some big plans for tonight:

– Therapist Appointment (yes, with Clara…)

– Band Reunion (I have a band! More on this later)

I better get going. See you guys soon!

Pounds All Around

´Ello, puppets!

I think I´m back on the grind! I think my post will be more regular from now on… YAY!

😀

As you probably noticed, I´m a bit more excited then usual. But, trust me – I have a pretty solid reason… Hahahaha.

Ok, now. Seriously. I have something really amazing to share with you guys. It´s not a done deal, we still have tons of things to set up, it´s definetely not a big “YES”… But it´s a “maybe”, and you know that´s enough to excite me 😀

The thing is…

I MIGHT GO TO ENGLAND IN JULY!

Yes, for 3-week period, I might go to England! It´s a summer course, to improve my English. Isn´t it EXCITING?!

And yes, you may laugh about the post title now. But isn´t England´s coin the pound? Haha 😉

Anyhow – on to a much more certain field… Food!

Yesterday was really fun. I awoke to a couple of melon slices and a bowl of 1/2 container of non-fat yogurt and 1/2 granola bar:

DSCF2977

Then, I had an apple while at school:

PIC_0375

And a DELICIOUS quiche+salad combo for lunch at a wonderful restaurant inside PUC´s campus (a well-known brazilian university) called “NaMedida”:

PIC_0377

*Heaven in my mouth!*

PIC_0379

(Fresh OJ on the side, obvs)

I had lunch with Mom! She went to Chile yesterday (she´s spending a week there – mostly to walk around and have some fun with my stepfather in a mini-vacation), and she said she wanted to say goodbye. Isn´t she the cutiest? 😀

Dinner was eaten early – I went out with my grandfather and cousins! It was great – she stopped at a book store, bought books (I chose “Sushi”, by Marian Keys! Is it good?) and then headed to a vegetarian restaurant called “Vegetariano Social Clube” – a place I´ve always wanted to visit. I absolutely LOVED IT, and can´t wait to come back!

I had a zucchini, eggplant and lettuce salad with a side of marinated tempeh. Two words: HOLY YUM!

PIC_0384

PIC_0383

(Sorry about the bad quality – bad lighting!)

I also had a Passion Juice+Ginger with my meal. So fresh and spicy 😀

PIC_0381

As I said – a wonderful day.

Today´s been great, too. I had my favourite PB+fruit combo EVER as breakfast:

DSCF2980

A nanner at school:

DSCF2986

And a wonderful veggie combo for lunch! I met my lovely grandmother for lunch at a vegetarian restaurant called “Rio Vegetariano”. I asked for their “Summer Dish”: a flourless heart-of-palms “casserole” with steamed veggies, a green salad and a blob of “vegan mayo”.

DSCF2991

Grandma ordered their brown rice+beans combo with the same pie and veggies I had. Her second dish was a bit camera-shy, but I managed to snap a pic while she had her soup:

DSCF2988

Cute!

We both had fresh unsweetened OJs on the side. They were so refreshing! Lurved it.

After our lunch, grandma decided to take a look at the little “health/organic store”. See all the bottles behind grandms? They´re not wines – they´re concentrated juice bottles. Hahahaha 😉

Anyhow – it was definetely a shopping spree! I simply bought everything I´ve ALWAYS wanted to have at home, but never had a chance to ask Mom. YAY!

All the goodies:

DSCF2993

Preserved Sliced Ginger, Tahini, Hummus and Organic Soy Cheese (Tofu-alike)

DSCF2997

I can´t believe I finally found this tahini jar! I see homemade hummus in the future… 😀

Anyhow – I´m really relaxed right now. Stepfather and Mom are having a BLAST, Lelê´s at school, and I´m done with homework. Life´s good, huh?

Before I go – I appreciate so much all the love and support everyone´s been giving me. I might not answer your lovely comments right away (Jessica, love – I don´t have your e-mail!), but I do read them all and I feel honered to receive such wonderful tips, advices and comments in general.

I might have told you all this before, but…

Y´ALL ROCK!

Hahahaha. Seriously, guys – I love the fact that I found blogworld so soon. I´m a lucky gal 😉

Wish you all a terrific night, and a magnificent week!

XOXO

Misunderstood

What if I don´t have anorexia?

What if I´m actually healthy? Normal-sized? Fit?

Could it be?

I just got back from my therapist appointment. It was terrible…

But something that she said caught my attention.

She asked me what did I normaly eat, on a regular basis. And I told her what I had eaten a few days ago…

-1/2 container of non-fat plain yogurt with 1/2 a granola bar

-a mini-apple

-small slice of spinach pie, steamed veggies

-little piece of grilled chicken, tomatoes, carrots, beets

And here´s what she told me:

“Hum… Ok. That´s actually pretty healthy. That´s not too low at all.”

I´m just really confused right now… Everyone (from the family) says I have anorexia, that I have to put on a few pounds, that I´m way too thin…

If this is true, why did she say that? Why do I feel no one except for my parents thinks I´m too thin?

I remember that back in January, when I went to see that nutritionist, she told my Dad I didn´t really have to gain any weight. But, if I (my Dad) wanted to, she could give me a special diet so I could gain about 6 pounds (to stay on a healthy weight).

It all makes sense now… But, at the same time, it doesn´t.

Am I sick or not?

Oh, gosh. I´m sorry to bother you guys again, but I´d really love to hear your thoughts. Your opinions. Advices?

Thank you, lovies. For reading, listening to what I have to say. For all the help you´ve been giving me.

Believe me, I appreciate that. So. much.

I hope you all have a great Friday…

XOXO,

G.

Whatever Works

Hey, people!

I´m sorry about my last word-y post. But I really needed to say it to someone, and I´d like to thank you all for the kind words. I felt almost fine just for reading your comments 🙂

Well, the situation has pretty much stayed the same those last few days. Except for the fact that I´m no longer allowed to do any afternoon activity besides school (which means no social project, gym or english course for me). Dad said I was getting too tired… And he was kind of right. I can barely breath through all my school homework 😛

Anyhow. I just wanted to let you guys know I´m much better now, even though I don´t feel 100%. I´ll let you guys know the details a little later, when I´m ready. For know, I think I´ll just share some old pics from my camera… It´s been a while since I last posted my eats!

I guess I´ll see you guys later… As soon as I can download my phone pictures on my PC, haha.

Have a wonderful night!

XOXO

G.
